Delia's Christmas Book

Look out for our collar of bacon in Delia's new Christmas book and also in the December issue of Delicious magazine.

We entered our smoked back bacon and our Semi Dried Chorizo (see below) into the Great Taste Awards this year and are really pleased to say we were awarded a 2 star Gold Award for each product.  We were not allowed to enter our lovely Pork, Apple and Apricot sausage nor the Old Oxford as they had both won awards last year.

Another new product which Ian has developed is our Semi Dried Chorizo and is sold under our Suffolk Salami "banner".  Delia Smith has developed a recipe for this which is really tasty and can be found in the Telegraph Magazine on the 27th September. google search Suffolk Chorizo - link to www.telegraph.co. - one of  Delia's Delights.  We can supply this by mail order and as a special offer to go with this recepie we can send out three of our chorizo (minimum weight 220 grams for the three) for £12 to include packing and postage by recorded delivery. Alternatively I can send 1 Kilo at £35.50, again to include postage byrecorded delivery. Please either phone me or e-mail me at ian@lanefarm.co.uk and I will contact you for your address and card details etc.

Suffolk Producer of the Year Award

Thanks to all of your who voted for us, we were runners up this year to Aspall Cider.  Just shows what great food and drink we have here in Suffolk!!!

Olive Magazine

Ian and were featured in the September issue of this magazine as one of Jimmy's food heros.  Funny picture of us though!!!

TORNADO

On Thursday afternoon (26th March 2009) we were quietly going about our business when suddenly the ski darkened, it started to rain really hard, and a tornado hit Lane Farm completely flattening a pole barn, knocking down a 6 tonne feed bin, and taking the top out of one of our trees.  It picked it all up and moved things a little way, flinging the large wooden beams like match sticks, and then left as quickly as it came.  Within 10 minutes the sky was clear and the birds were singing.  All very scary but we were so lucky really as no one was hurt and no animals were affected.  Just a little clearing up to do now!!!

The Moon Walk

On May 16th I joined three friends and walked the 26.2 miles from Hyde Park around Whitehall, down the Embankment, up to Battersea, (past the barking dogs!) up Sloane Street and past Harrods (didn't much feel like window shopping by now though at 20 miles) then on back past the Houses of Parliament past Horse Guards Parade and back to Hyde Park.  All at the amazing pace of 6 hours 9 minutes.  I think we came back in the 1st 200 out of approx. 15,000 ladies and gents who completed this amazing walk all in aid of Breast Cancer charities.  In all I raised about £1000 (incuding the gift aid) so a big big thank you to all who supported me in this walk.  I really enjoyed it so much, no gain without the pain.  It was wonderful and am already training for next year.  Thanks again to all.
